Edward Hyde is the alter ego of Dr. Henry Jekyll, in The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, written by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1886. Dr. Jekyll was a mild-mannered and calm character, but when he drank a special potion he created it would transform him into a violent and evil version of himself.
