A Metaphor is a creative way to describe a person or thing by applying a word or phrase to it to give a different meaning. It says one thing IS another thing. (note, this is different from a simile which does the same thing but uses the words “like” or “as”.) Examples of metaphors would be, “You are my star,” or “He is a gray cloud in my life.”
